Milano is served by three airports: Malpensa (intercontinental flights), Linate and Orio al Serio (Bergamo).

Milano Malpensa

You must first reach Bellinzona by shuttle bus (Malpensa Express). The shuttle runs every 2 hours, the trip takes about 2 hours and costs CHF 65.- for a round trip. Reservation (from the website) recommended.
The shuttle leaves from Terminal 1, door 4, parking 21 and from Terminal 2, parking 14.

From Bellinzona you can reach Locarno by train. There are connections every 20-30 minutes and the trip takes approximately 20-25 minutes.

Milano Linate

You must first reach Milano railway station (Milano centrale). A bus departing every 30 minutes (6.05am to 11.45pm) from the arrivals floor connects the airport with the railway station. Tickets can be bought on the bus.

From Milano Centrale you can reach Locarno by train. The fastest connection (2 hours, with one change in Bellinzona) departs every 2 hours during day time.

Bergamo Orio al Serio

You must first reach Milano railway station (Milano centrale) with a shuttle bus. You can find the shuttle schedule here and prices here.

From Milano Centrale you can reach Locarno by train. The fastest connection (2 hours, with one change in Bellinzona) departs every 2 hours during day time.

Booking or advance purchase of train tickets are possible but not obligatory.
