The application period for international conferences in 2014 is now closed.
CSF Exhibition at Monte Verità
Following its success at the ETH Zurich from September 2010 until February 2011, the exhibition on the Centro Stefano Franscini is now on display in the main Auditorium at Monte Verità. Twelve posters describe the history and the activities of CSF during its first 20 years (1989-2009). The exhibition made its debut during the celebrations for CSF 20 years of activity (Monte Verità, October 2009) and after a "winter residency" in Zurich is now back at Monte Verità.

Public Events of the CSF in 2013
- Thursday, March 21st, 2013, 8.30-10.00 pm: Public event "Perspectives on medical error" within the international conference "Communicating Medical Error (COME)", 18-22 March, 2013 (English with Italian translation)
The role of communication in the eventuality of medical errors is of great public interest. This public event will interface four renowned personalities in the field to confront their personal perspectives on this topic area. USI Professor Annegret Hannawa will represent the communication competence perspective in this stimulating discussion. The medical perspective will be represented by Prof. Dr. Albert Wu, a practicing internist and professor of medicine, health policy and management, and Prof. Dr. Marcia Childress, a professor of medical education. WHO Patient for Patient Champion Brian Stafford, who has experienced repeated events of iatrogenic harm in his family environment, will represent the patient perspective on the panel. At the end of the discussion, the presenters will answer questions from the audience.

- Thursday, July 18th, 2013, 4.30-7.00 pm : "Soft Robots for Hard Problems" Public demonstration of soft robots
Robots to date are mostly hard and acting in rigid manner. That not only limits their performance, but also imposes potential dangers to humans. Soft Robotics research is expected to play an important role to substantially increase application niche of robotics technologies.
Robotics researchers from many research labs and groups around the world are gathering in this event to present their latest achievements in soft robotics field. In this public event, physical and simulated robot platforms will be demonstrated to the audience, as well as posters explaining the technology behind the state-of-the-art robots in soft robotics field. Audience will be able to interact with the real robots, ask questions and catch up with the latest technology available.
In the Scope of the International Conference "2013 International Workshop on Soft Robotics and Morphological Computation" (14-19 July 2013 in collaboration with the Centro Stefano Franscini/ETH Zurich and the Bio-Inspired Robotics Laboratory of the ETH Zurich).
